Who am I?

Hello! I’m Max Newcomer. I’m a pretty normal guy who likes to write software and train models. I started programming my senior year of high school just because I needed to fill out a for my final semester. The second I ran my first program in Java (eww! and in Eclipse of all IDEs… double-eww!!), I knew that I wanted to do this for the rest of my life.

Since then, I’ve taken every opportunity I could to learn more about computers: how they work and how to manipulate them into doing cool things. Although this might be a little bit of a non-standard take, the lower level something gets, the more exciting it is for me. Naturally, I loved my OS class. CPUs are cool and all (branching + logic goats), but ever since I tasted the sweet sweet nector of GPU float manipulation, I was hooked on “Machine Learning”.

What is this??

I hope this can be a place for me to document the ups and downs of my career and the things I learn. At the least, I’ll be able to reflect on these early days of my professional life, and at most, something I write might end up helping someone else (that’d be pretty neat).

Thoughts on the current political and socio-economic climate???

No thanks!

Yeah, yeah, yeah... I know. Another CS guy talking about their own project to make them feel like their time wasn't wasted on some obscure code... indulge me a little.

I'm going to be honest... I have no idea what I'm doing. But, I am hoping to document my career over the years in this little blog. Ideally, this will be not only something useful for someone else, but also fun to look back on later in life :)
